Can you help identify a replacement part for my door? This is the mechanism that you turn 180 degrees to raise or lower the bolt that frees or seizes the second half of the front door. I'm not sure what this is called.
The front knob is broken and missing from this part.

What you describe sounds like a thumb lever of some kind, but I've never seen anything like yours before. It appears to be very old. Would you happen to know who made your door?
