16CFR 1201 II SGCC 1804 1/8U Door Handle Replacement

Home Owner from Ohio
Our sliding glass door handle's lock broke years ago. Now the foot spring lock also pops up by itself. Hoping to replace the handle lock just don't know what to look for. Pictures included with e-mail. Identifying numbers on the door are as follows: CTG Tempered 16CFR 1201 II SGCC 1804 1/8U

Thanks.

Hi, Sara. Check out our 82-035 Handle Set and the 82-226 Mortise Lock. I believe these can work for you. Be sure to confirm if the handle set is in good shape. It may just be the mortise lock that is broken. If so, that's all you need to replace.

The handle appears fine. Only the latch that you would push up or down to lock or unlock the door feels like it is not connected to anything.....would just replacing the lock mechanism help this piece to work again? Thanks. Sara

The wobbly latch may not be a problem, but it also may just be due to the mortise lock being broken. If I were you, I would remove my mortise from the side of the door and try to 'throw' the latch with a slotted screwdriver. You'll almost certainly find that it doesn't work, which means you should replace the mortise.

I would then buy a mortise and try to install it, with the intent that you can reuse the old handle set. If the installation worked, great, no need to touch the handle. If the installation didn't work, then I would consider a new handle also. Let me know what you think.

I'm afraid that information doesn't tell us what the year of manufacturing was. What specifically were you looking to replace? In what way is the date of manufacture important? I've rarely seen that piece of information come up as relevant for patio glass door handles like this.

Unfortunately, these numbers don't tell me anything about the rollers. This information is only in reference to the glass itself, not the door or the hardware it uses.

The only way we can help is to see the rollers removed entirely. We specifically need to see the back end, sides, and top. Written dimensions would also be useful, as you may need them later down the line for the purposes of comparison.

We unfortunately don't sell replacement hardware for this type of door. My suggestion is to contact the original manufacturer directly for assistance.
