Hello, We'd be happy to look into this for you but we would need to see a photo of the mortise lock inside the door, along with written-out dimensions of the lock and handle set. From there, we'll be able to narrow down your replacement options. Thank you! |

Thanks for getting back to us. The mortise lock shown in your diagram resembles the one that comes with the 40-049 lockset. Review the specifications to see if this could be adapted to work for your application. alternate view of 40-049

Unfortunately, we do not carry this assembly in bronze but we do carry the 40-183 that is offered in satin chrome or black. Take a look and see which option you'd prefer. |

It sounds like your handles keep loosening up. I would try using liquid "Loctite" on the set screws in the handle. The Loctite act as a type of adhesive to keep the set screws in place. As for needing extra turns on the latch bolt, it could just be the way that it is designed. |
The mortise lock set that will fit my storm door is numbers 40?049 and 40?183.
Is the brass, a brass plated or brass. Is brushed nickel are satin chrome the same thing? I am not exactly fond of that style, but need those measurements. Do you have anything? Similar to the photos I have attached.
I would appreciate your help!
Thank you so much!
Carolyn

The handles shown in your new photos would match the specifications of the 40-193 used on Pella and Larson storm doors. Please note that the measurements are a bit different than the 40-049 shown in the diagrams you posted originally. I did have a customer mention that they were able to use these handle sets interchangeably but I've never tried it myself and it could require adaptations. If you decide to give one of them a try and run into any issues, our return policy can be found here. As for the color options of our locksets, the manufacturer states that the 40-049 is solid brass. As for the finish of the 40-183, some suppliers call it satin chrome and some call it brushed nickel. I believe that the 40-183 is more of a dull brushed nickel finish. |
