82-055 too small for my door

I had previously contacted you and after emailing photos you recommended replacement door handle 82-055. Upon trying to install it today I found the lock would not fit thru the hole in the door and also the screws were to short to fit thru the door. The door is 1 1/2 thick so I believe the screws would have to be at least 2 1/4 long. I have attached photos of the opening in the door as well as what the original door handle looks like. This door was installed in the late 70's or early 80's.

The lock for the 82-055 Sliding Door Handle Set is the replacement for the Acorn DorWall door. However, you seem to have the thicker version. I would suggest that you go to a local hardware store for a longer screw. (take the lock and original screw with you when you go to show the store clerk).

As for the the lock, I'm not sure why it wouldn't fit in the door. Looking at your photo it looks like the hole is large enough, but perhaps you could try to file the hole a little larger, just enough for it to fit through.
