Door kerf seal

Thanks for posting. Without seeing the end profile of the original seal it's difficult to say exactly what might work. Check out our 58-053. This has a kerf that is 1/4" long and a bulb that is centered atop it. Look it over and let me know if you think this might work for you.

As a reminder:
- Kerf is 1/16" wide and 1/4" deep
- Gap (for bulb to fill) is 3/16" to 3/8"

Hey there, Bob's not here today but I'll do my best to advise.
If you think the wider bubble would better suit your application, then you can definitely consider that. However the only way to know for sure what size you need is to measure the original. Going by the gap itself isn't always accurate, since these are designed to compress. Truth be told, both the 58-053 and 58-114 are made for windows, not doors, so my major concern is that they're going to be too small. That's very important to consider. Door seal tends to be way, way bigger.
At this stage, measuring the original is the only way to know what size is needed. If there is no original to measure then it's not really possible to narrow down the list of possibilities. You would have quite a bit of trial and error ahead of you, speaking from experience.
If you do have the old seal on hand to use as a reference, then that should be your next step before you do anything else. Remove an undamaged sample and check the size and shape to verify whether the above products are worth considering.
