Door knob set screw stem (or bar)

Have finally figured out why the knobs to my exterior door to front porch keep falling apart: The set screw stem (or bar or whatever it's called) is about 1/2" too short. My 3-1/2 stem is 1/4" on all four sides and as I hope you can see, each knob screws into grooves on either end of the stem. Home Depot Pro Desk (Alcoa, TN) referred me to you. Hope to find a replacement stem that's about 4". Thanks much. Shirley in Maryville, TN

Thanks for posting. What is the thickness of the door using these knobs? Our 43-007 Knob Set will fit doors nominally 1-3/8" thick; it might work on doors up to 1-1/2" thick, but I'd be leery about going past that. Take a look and let me know what you think.
