Latch to lock, turning left and right, takes great strength to turn. Need to identify way to fix.

Your photo resembles the mortise lock used with the 82-400 Atrium lever lockset shown below. Take a look and compare the dimensions to your assembly to confirm if it would work for your repair. Thanks for posting!

Your information was so helpful! We took entire lock box apart, used machine oil and voila', the thumb latch moves like butter. Spring controlling door latch is broken and no idea where to order a part. Any advice would be so appreciated.
