Door/ window seal

The seal is a brush type pile type. Black. It has gotten compressed. It seems to slide in a track, but there is no end slot to remove or install the seal. Is it just pulled out or forsed into the slot?

It's very possible that the edges of the weatherstripping channels are sealed. It's common enough practice. Unfortunately that means that to replace the old seal, you'll need to make your own opening to allow the original to be removed. The video below will explain how this can be done.
