Door won't lock

Question

I bought the door striker from you guys but the door latch does not stay locked when engaged. I don't know if thay is the right door striker or if my latch needs replaced. If so I need to know what to buy and install.

Hello!

I see that you ordered the 89-030 keeper which is fully compatible with your existing lock. I recommend you remove the mortise lock from the door and try "throwing" it manually. To do so, you'll need to use a slotted screwdriver to turn the slot where the thumb lever latch engages with the mortise to see if it throws okay. If it doesn't, you will need to replace the mortise with the 82-238. Let us know if this works for you!
