Double Hung Window Coil Spring Replacement and Balance

Question

We need to replacement the entire mechanism including the coil, shoe and balance. The mechanism is 4" long and 1/2" thick. Please see attached picture. The window sash was 20lbs. We are looking for what part number we need to purchase for replacement.

Hey Chris. This is a Coil balance assembly. All of these parts are sold separately. The pivot shoe looks like the 15-111. If the coil spring is 1/2" thick, then it is a Series 160 Coil Balance. If the window weighs exactly 20 pounds, use a 10 pound S160-10 spring. Using one of these springs on both sides of the window will equal 20 pounds of support overall. If your old coil housing is undamaged you can reuse it--otherwise see the 15-150S. Let me know if you have further questions.
