Double hung window sash lock replacements

Contractor from Cranston, Rhode Island 02920
I need to replace locks on 8 double hung windows. These locks have a rabbet at the bottom and the sweep is 5/16" out side dim. And 1/4" inside. See sketch attached. Hole layout is also on sketch. There is a YouTube video by this old house with Tom Silva. (How to replace the sash lock on a vinyl window) this is the same windows and locks as my window. I already purchased two locks from Truth # 014-10-7-32 & 014-10-8-32. They don't work.

Hello,

Your sash lock resembles the 90-009 at first glance but it has 2-1/4" hole spacing as shown below. Unfortunately, we do not carry a version of this lock with 2" hole spacing. The backset also differs from your diagram. I'm sorry that we won't be able to supply a closer match but take a look and see what you think.

Casey, Thanks for your reply with this sash lock. Unfortunately I have also bought this exact lock from Home Depot and that too does not work with my window. Please note that I'm quite qualified to repair these windows. Unfortunately the design of these windows are unique. I'm up for suggestions.

Unforutnately, we do not carry a closer match for your sash lock. If you haven't already, you may want to try reaching out to the window manufacturer directly to see if they can supply the exact lock you need. We apologize for the inconvenience but please let us know if you have any other hardware questions.

I can't find any manufacturer stickers on the window edges. I believe the company maybe out of business since the windows are about 25 years old. I my have to make shift a lock I can make work. Thanks for your help anyway.

I'm sorry to hear that. You could also try checking any identical windows in the house for information that might help point you in the right direction. You could also check with local hardware stores that may be familiar with the type of windows and parts used in your area around the time they were installed.
