Drawer replacement glides

Handy Person from A secret place

I was hoping to replace a singular drawer slide on a drawer that is 36 inches wide by 14 inches deep. The current singular slide (wood on bottom & metal on top) does not seem to be able to properly support this large of a drawer with even a small amount of contents.

I was hoping to change out the singular slide with Product Code: 32-057

however, there is a plastic piece that is supposed to be mounted to the back of the dresser with this product to support the glides and although the dresser is solid hardwood everywhere else the back of the dresser is an extremely thin sheet of wood approximately an 1/8" thick. Your video for this product suggested adding a piece of wood to the back of the dresser to screw into for added support. However I believe that presents the exact same problem. The back panel of the dresser is simply too thin to screw into (without popping through) especially since it will be receiving continual stress being a support for the drawer.

Any help for a solution would be greatly appreciated. I would prefer a solution with two slides/glides if at all possible.

Hello! We don't sell your exact drawer assembly but our 32-053 drawer track kit would be what we recommend. The video below will walk you through the replacement process. See what you think!
