I have Anderson double-hung windows that were installed around 1985. The interior dimensions of the windows: 35 1/4 by 49".
Several of the window balance strings are broken and I need to order replacements. I followed your instructions to expose the balance unit. It is galvanized, and it's very difficult to see stamping on the surface.
The only number I can find stamped on the balance unit is E38 9 27 3 88. It appears on the flat surface where the Anderson Company stamp is located. There are no numbers on the lip where the staple fastens the balance to the window unit.
Can you please tell me which replacement balance to order? I'll need 4 or 5 window balances replaced.
