Emco hinge metal pin, plastic washer, spring

Question

I recently purchased replacement parts for our storm door, but found they do not fit. I purchased 2 sets of (2) 40-165 : Storm Door Hinge Pin Repair Kit, but hey do not fit.

Please help.

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this. Things have been pretty busy here, as I'm sure you know all too well.

Fortunately, I think I can help. Last year I repaired an Emco storm door hinge like this using our 40-165. However I had to use existing parts from the existing hinge as well as parts from the 40-165 hinge repair kit. I think I had to use the metal door pins from the Emco door.

Despite that, I did get it to work and my customer was happy. It'll take a little experimenting on your part but I think the 40-165 should work, with some adaptation.
