We have a patio door by Empire Pacific installed in 2004. The interior handle plate broke. We have not been able to find a replacement that will fit. Can you help?

We don't sell this exact style, but I believe you can use our 82-030 to replace it. The design is a little different but as long as your hole spacing is the same at 3-15/16" then you should be good to go!

Thank you for your prompt response. It looks like #82-030 in white will do.

Another question - if we go for a new mortise lock as well - is the only difference between 82-218 and 82-243 the finish?

Well, the 82-243 is stainless steel, which means it will hold up much better in salt air environments. However if you don't live near the ocean or an area where corrosion is a concern then the 82-218 will be perfectly sufficient.
