EntryGard Dual Arm Operator 39-032

Handy Person from Boulder, Colorado

Hi,

I ordered and received an EntryGard Dual Arm Operator 39-032. When ordering, I did not notice that there was a distinction of offset up or offset down for the shorter operator arm. I received offset down, when in fact I have an offset up for the window that I'm repairing.

Can the arm be removed, flipped over and re-riveted (by me?) It looks like the arm could go either way.

Thanks!

Mike

Hey Mike. We've come across this problem before, but a lot of customers have reported that installing the 39-032 as is works fine, and there was no need to modify the link arm. That said, if by some chance you do encounter problems, you are already on the right track. You could drill out the rivet where the link arm is connected to the gear arm. Then use a hammer and a rivet like our 62-014 to re-attach the link arm as desired. I'd try installing the operator as is first, and if that doesn't work, go with the re-attachment plan. Let me know how you make out, or if you have further questions!

Many thanks for your reply! Indeed, the part did work without modification. Thanks also for getting the part to me so quickly!
