This piece detaches from the casement opperator everytime we try to close the window. Is there a way to get it to stay or do I need a replacement part?

Hello,

Thanks for posting! This worm gear as become stripped from the base, so you'll need to replace the entire operator to repair the window. I'm confident we can supply a replacement but I'll need to see a photo of the operator arm(s) and how it connects to the bottom of the swinging window sash.

If you are not able to get this window open, we can take a look at the hardware from a similar window, if available. You may need to open the window manually if this is the only one.

Please don't hesitate to reach out with any additional questions.

Attached is a photo of the operator arms. Please let me know what I need to purchase to replace it? Also, do yo have any recommendations on a ratchet that is small enough to unscrew and screw in the new casement? I am trying to avoid drilling holes in the window framing. Thank!

This window operator reminds me of the 39-031 EntryGard Dual Arm Operator. Carefully look over the specifications and compare them to confirm.

The compatible hardware and accessories can be found tagged below.

Dimensions for 39-031

You should not need to drill any new holes to complete the installation but you will need to remove the sill trim to access the screws. Please see the tutorial below for instructions on how to remove/install the hardware.
