Extended Travel Balance

A quick learner from California says:
I am replacing the balances on 17 year old Milgard windows. The balances are Extended Travel Balances. Does your S-385 series work the same way. I notice the hook is not at the bottom. Will that make a difference?

Tom from SWISCO responded:

If you have the balances I think you have, then the cord on the Series 385 won't be long enough to close your window. The first time you try, the cord would yank out of the pulley and irreparably damage the new hardware.

We should still be able to help, but this balance will probably have to be custom made. To confirm, I'll need some photos. Please show me a picture of the top and bottom ends, the hook at the end of the cord, and the stamp. I will also need to k now how many you need.

Finally, please only show us an undamaged balance. Broken hardware is very hard for us to identify since pieces can be missing or too damaged to make out.
