Extended-Travel Channel Balance Quote

1. Length of metal channel = 29 3/4", width = 1/2"
2. Stamped "2930 B.S.I. PN" near bottom fitting
3. GUESS is the manufacturer is Milgard
4. Side of bottom fitting is 1 3/32" at widest (looks darn close to your pictures on "extended-travel" page)
5. We need 2 pairs (4 balances) that support 19 lb. windows, 2 pairs (another 4) that support 11 lb. windows

Hello there!

We can help supply this style of balance but it will have to be a custom order due to its configuration. In order for me to get this moving, can you tell me the stamp on the balance in your 11-pound windows?

It's also important to note that our replacements will have metal channel lengths ending in 7/8" increments. You may want to triple-check this measurement just to be safe since custom orders are nonrefundable.

Hi!

Thanks for the quick response... sorry, we've had stormy weather the last 2 days so not good to pull out additional window balances to measure until this morning Pacific time). Here are the answers to your questions...

1. The STAMP on ALL balances for both the 11 lb. and 19 lb. windows is the same "2930" number.

Let me know if this doesn't jive for the difference window weights (the 11 lb. windows are narrow, and the 19 lb. windows are twice as wide, all are the same height).

2. Thanks for the 7/8" increment information... YES, you are correct, ALL balances are 29 7/8" long metal pieces as you noted.

Let me know the cost and timeframe to get new channel balances... thanks!!

Hey there, Emily isn't here today but I can help you from here.

So, the 2930 stamp is designed to hold 16 through 23 pounds. That's perfect for the 19 pound sash, but too strong for the 11 pounder. Have you ever found that particular window to be difficult to close? If so, that's probably why.

For that lighter window you're actually want to go down two weight grades to the 2910 stamp. This carries 3 through 12 pounds.

Fortunately we can do both! What I'll do now is email you a purchase link and price quote that will let you add each balance to your cart. You may then checkout as normal.

Thanks for getting us that quote... we just placed the custom order. And thanks for the information on the 11 lb windows only requiring the "2910" stamped channel balances (3-12 pound weight grade)... YES, those 2 windows have been very hard to close over the years!

Looking forward to getting those installed when they arrive. It appears from the shipping quote of April 28th that all 4 pairs will ship together once the "2910"s are back in stock.
