Extended-Travel Channel Balance Quote

Quick Learner
This balancer is from a Millard single hung vinyl window guessing sometime from the 2000's. Channel is 1/2" wide x 23 3/4" long. The stamp on back of channel is "23 4 rn bsi tk ". It looks like I have been buying Series 385 balance for these Milguard windows but this one has a hook at the end and is slightly smaller than 24" so would like to confirm correct part to order

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out! There is a chance that we can supply you with a replacement channel balance for you window. However, to determine the correct replacement balances needed for your window, I'll need to see a photo of an undamaged balance removed from the window. Unfortunately, the stamp from the balance does not indicate the type of balance you need. It only tells us the weight range the balance should be able to carry to support the weight of your sash.

To properly identify them, I'll need to see a photo of any attachments that may be on the top or bottom of the balance.

If this is a tilt window, I'll need to see any attachments that could possibly be left behind in the window or that could possibly be attached to the bottom of the window. If there is a hook at the top of the balance, I'll need to see the space in the window channel where the hook connects.

If there are no balances in the window at all, I'll need to see an undamaged balance from a similar window and I'll need to know the height of the visible glass as well as the window weight.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the photos. This is an extended travel channel balance and will need to be a custom made assembly. I'll need to see a photo of the bottom shoe from the other side so that I can get a better idea of the hook you need.

The length of the balance we'll be supplying you with is 23-5/8". You'll need to double check the length of your balances to ensure that our balances will work for you. Let me know if yours are actually 23-3/4".

I'll also need to know the exact number of balances you intend to purchase so that I can confirm pricing and availability and get the quote made up for you. There is an order minimum of (2) balances per custom balance type.

Let me know if you have any questions in the meantime.
