Thanks for reaching out to us. We can supply this balance, but only as a custom order. Thankfully you've provided all information we need to get the ball rolling. Please just give me a little time to check on the availability of this size and we'll get right back to you.

Thanks again for your patience. Before we go any further with this order, can you please weigh your sash on a scale and tell me what you get? Please give me the exact weight down to the ounce, if possible. Thank you!

Thanks for verifying. That's actually far under what your original stamp was designed to hold up. A stamp of 25-5 is only designed to hold 24 through 27 pounds, which is way too strong for your window. Have you ever found that your window was hard to close? Did it ever seem to open up on its own? If not, you may want to double check that weight just to be certain.

Assuming that 22 pounds is accurate, then I'm inclined to bump you down to a lighter weight option. I just want to make sure that we get you the right balance for the job.

Unrelated to that, there is another facet of this project that I need to go over, which is that your original balance is strictly not made anymore. The manufacturer discontinued it quite recently, but the good news is that there is a modern option that works just as well. I'm only telling you this because the design of the new balance is quite a bit different and I don't want you to be alarmed when you open the box.

For a 22 pound sash, I would set you up with a new style balance that uses the 2540 stamp option. Two balances with this stamp can hold 19 through 25 pounds, which is a much lighter grade than what you had installed originally.

I'll go ahead and email you a purchase link and price quote that will let you add 10 of these to your cart. You may then checkout as normal. However, please make sure to triple check your sash weight before you place an order, just to be 100% sure that the 2540 stamp can work. It's very strange for the original installers to put in the wrong balance for the window, so you really need to be certain.

These balances will need to be made for you, so we expect a lead time of approximately 5-6 business weeks.

Just rewieghed the sash agian on a scale that has been certified. It was 23Lb, 2oz. The windows have been hard to pull down, especially the last 4-5 inches. over time it has gotten harder.

Thanks for verifying. If your window has always been hard to pull down then I definitely think the original installers put in a spring that was too strong for the application. That's unfortunate, but at least now that you're replacing your balances we can fix that issue. I believe the new 2540 stamp should allow your windows to work better than ever.
