Exterior cylinder for Jeld-Wen Door

Professional from Lehighton PA
I have a customer with a Jeld-Wen Builders 2500 Sliding Door. He wants to add an exterior key cylinder. The handles look like the 82-091 set except that the inside and outside handles are both the same and the exterior is flat with no space for an internal cylinder. Will the 82-315 cylinder work with this trim?

Hello,

I agree that the handle set in your photos resembles the 82-091 but yours doesn't appear to accept an external key lock. If you'd like to replace the entire handle set with the 82-091, it can be used with the 82-092 key cylinder that is sold separately. Thanks for posting.

I think that will be the easiest. I did pull the outside trim and there are knockouts for a cylinder, but I still think that sure thing is to replace the whole mess.
Thanks. I'll place an order.

If there is a knockout on the backside of the external handle, I see no reason why you couldn't install the 82-092 but I completely understand if you'd prefer to replace the entire assembly at once just to be on the safe side.
