Finding a Replacement for my Coil Balances

Thanks for contacting SWISCO. It looks like you had our 15-192 Pivot Shoe; therefore you need our Series 170 and Series 171 Coil Balances. If you have one spring on each side of the window, use the Series 170. If you have two springs on each side of the window, the Series 170 spring goes on the bottom, while the Series 171 goes on the top.

Based on the numbers on your old spring's housing, you may wish to select the balance option 409 for your springs. But the only way to know for sure is to weigh your window sash to know the specific balances to select. The coil balances are distinguished by the amount of weight they are meant to support. For instance, the S170-409 is meant to hold 9 lbs. If your window sash weighed 18 lbs, you would want a coil spring that supports 9 lbs on either side (so an S170-409 on each side of the window).
