Finding replacements for a set of channel balances and top sash guides

Home Owner from Sacramento, CA

Hi,

My name's Nicholas, and I'm hoping someone at Swisco can help me find and buy some window parts.

I recently had a window stop working, and after taking it apart, it was clear that one of the top sash guides had broken, and the string connecting the corresponding channel balance had snapped (my guess is that one breaking caused the other to break, but I'm not sure).

The channel balances are marked stamped with the following: 23-5 AJ5 CMC 50

They measure 24" long including only the metal portion, or 25" long if I include the plastic pieces on both ends. The metal channel is 5/8" deep.

For the top sash guides, I can't find anything printed on them. They measure 2.25" long and 5/8" wide. In terms of depth, it's hard to describe because there are two sections - the larger section is 9/16" deep, and the smaller section is 3/8" deep. The larger section has one oval mounting hole inside, and the smaller section has three round mounting holes inside.

I'm happy to provide pictures or discuss further on the phone, if that would help.

Thanks,

Nicholas

Hello,

We'd be happy to help but we would need to see photos of an undamaged balance assembly and top sash guide fully removed from the window to compare to our inventory. We'll relate a few videos on this page to help you through the process. Thank you!
