Fixing awning window - replacing operator?

Quick Learner from Manitoba

The worm gear that gets turned by the handle has popped out of the casing, which I understand requires replacement of the whole operator. The operator + arms are still attached to the window but has markings saying "TRUTH" and "30895".

It is an awning window, and the arms are approximately 21.5 inches wide when closed (slightly less than this in the attached picture - but since still attached I had to have the window open to get a measurement).

I suspect it might be this part?https://www.swisco.com/Dual-Arm-Crank-21-1_2-inch/pd/Awning-Window-Replacement-Operators/39-083

Question - am I okay to just replace the operator?

Or does it also require replacing this piece? (https://www.swisco.com/Metal-Bracket/pd/Replacement-Window-Operator-Brackets/39-170) I think this is where the operator arms attach to the window? Can I just use the existing bracket that's already on the window for this or do I need to replace both?

Thanks,

KC

Hi there!

Thank you for reaching out to us. The 39-083 indeed looks like a match for your old assembly. You can also reuse the old sash bracket if it's in good condition. You're good to go, so long as the specifications align!
