Folding Metal Closet Door

Quick Learner from Ohio

#2 photo is the intact side. #1 photo show the "stopper?" assembly missing making it impossible to install the door in the upper right runner. There are no readable markings on the door which the builder says is from the late 1960's. Hope you can help. The door is 90 inches tall and 23 inches wide approximately. The original manufacturer of the door no longer exists.

Thank you.

Hello,

I don't recognize your bi-fold pivots at first glance but I'm going to have one of our senior experts take a look and see if they could recommend replacements for you. We'll reach out as soon as more information is available. Thank you!

It looks like you have the old series of Slimfold bi-fold doors. The good news is that their newer parts should work on your door. You will need one 21-001 bottom threaded pivot pin and three 21-007 spring-loaded pins, one for the top pivot pin and the two top and bottom guide pins. Installation of the parts is shown in the video we've related for you.

We also pulled up other replacement parts you might need. Once you replaced the parts, place the bottom of the door over the track, lining up the bottom threaded pin into the pivot bracket and guide pin in the bottom track. Now swing the door up to the top track and snap in the two top guide pins. One in the top bracket and the other in the track.

Adjust the bottom threaded pin so the door is aligned and operates smoothly.
