Front Entry Door Threshold vs Sweep

Question

Hello: Our front Entry Door has gradually developed a space between the door sweep and door threshold.  Our current sweep measures 42 inches long and 1 & 13/16 inches wide.  Our current threshold is 5+ inches wide and 41 & 1/2 inches long between the door jambs although the space in front of the door sill would seem to accommodate a threshold that is 42 & 1/2 inches long (I'm not sure if the extra 1/2 inch on either side is supposed to be 'threshold-less'.  Would you recommend replacing the sweep or threshold or both?; if so could you provide part names/numbers? Thanks in advance.

For your door sweep, take a look at our 58-186 surface-mounted replacement for 1-3/4" thick doors. It is 48" long but you can always cut it down to fit the length of your door. As for your threshold, we don't carry anything as wide as the one in your photos but you can view our full selection of door sweeps and thresholds here. Thank you!
