Gasket on a ventilated Skylight is cracked and brittle

Quick Learner from Sayreville NJ
Hi,
I noticed a leak from our skylight, which has a Paeco sticker with the serial number of 86872. It seems that the gasket on the room side and the roof side is brittle and cracked. Is there a replacement kit for this gasket? I think the window itself is sound as there does not appear to be ANY rot on the wood frame.

I'm not sure what gasket it is you have. That number does not indicate what a match might be, unfortunately. Can you remove a small sample, as undamaged as possible, and show us a picture of it from the end?

My Paeco skylights seem to be working just fine, but the interior gasket is breaking down and warping in places. This gasket forms the boundary between the moving window part and the wooden frame. The Skylight is marked with a SN 91935 and is probably in excess of 20 years old. I am attaching a photo of the end of the gasket to aid in identification. It measures about 1x1 inch. Thanks. Bill

I'm sorry to say that we don't sell a replacement for this gasket. My recommendation would be to contact the original manufacturer directly to see if this is something they can supply for you.

I'm sorry that we can't be of further assistance.
