Gear and arm are worn out!

A quick learner from Green Bay, WI says:
I only see ROW on the crank handle. The gear and/or arm are just worn out and I would like to replace a few of these in the windows that are in okay shape.
Thank you for your time and expertise.

Hello, Brett. These window parts area extraordinarily old. I don't think we'll be able to find an exact match, but I can try to find a substitute at least.

Before I can recommend anything, I'd like confirmation of what you need, exactly. You say you need a new gear and arm, but your photo shows a broken hinge. What specifically did you need? If you needed a new gear, that means you need an all new operator. We'd have to see a picture of it fully removed from the window to identify.

If you needed a new hinge, I'm not sure that we could help. It seems like your hinge is just a straight arm that rivets into the sill. Can you confirm?

A quick learner from Green Bay, WI says:
Thanks for the reply.
The hinge is fine.
I know they are pretty old and will need to replace the whole operator with one that attaches down through sill.
See pictures.

I appreciate your patience while we looked into this. As I suspected, I couldn't find anything like this. It's just too old. The only thing we have that comes close is our 39-028E operator. I think this is our best match because it has a similar nylon bearing at the end of the arm. My hope is that, at the very least, it could fit in the same track. However, even if that were the case, it would still require extensive alteration of the wood sill trim.

If you aren't handy, I highly recommend seeking the help of a local professional to do this replacement for you. It may be a big project.
