No discernible Markers or numbers was mounted at the top of windows with on on right and left sides with a spring to keep the window from slamming shut

You have a General Aluminum window top sash guide that came in left and right. They discontinued it and replaced it with a version that can work on either side interchangeably: the 18-066. I believe this will work for your window.
