Getting wheel out of old rail.

A home owner from Sun City, Arizona says:
How do you get the old wheel that is thrashed out of the rail? Mine has a metal axle.
Thanks.

Tom from SWISCO responded:

Hello, Tennes! I would first try to push the axle out with a screwdriver or scratch awl. Then, I would use leverage to "pop out" the wheel on an angle.

If that did not work, I would take a 3/32" drill bit to it, like a dentist doing a root canal, and I'd drill the entire metal axle out piece by piece.
