Glazing Bead?

Landlord from Richmond, KY
Hello, I need to replace this piece on several windows throughout my property. is their an option on Swisco that will work to replace it?Is it odd that the keepers are screwed into it? SHould the keepers be screwed into a more structural piece of the window? It's not really possible on these windows, I'm just asking to learn more.If possible can you identify this brand of window from these images? They seem to be completley unmarked. I cant find stickers, engravings, etc. on any part of the window (from their installed state)Thanks,RB

Hi there! You have an early model of the Silverline vinyl window that attached the keeper to the glazing bead, which we also believe was not a good idea. You can use our 55-015 vinyl glazing for your window sashes. Take a look and see what you think.

Hello again, @Paul I ordered and recieved the snap-in glazing you suggested. It has too much curve to fit in my windows. Is there antoher option? In the photo I am attatching I have highlighted the part of the glazing that is not working. It has too harsh of a curve where as the glazing I removerd is much straighter. Is there something Im missing in the installation process? Do I need to apply heat or something?

The cold weather could be a contributing factor to the issue. You can either wait for milder temperatures or carefully apply heat at the tip that enters the sash. For the bottom sash, we used to place it on a table, align the glazing with the opening, and then use a block of wood and a hammer to gently tap the vinyl glazing, starting from one end and working toward the other. For the stationary top sash, use the same method: start at one end and work your way to the other end.
