Handle replacement

Hello, we are a high rise condo in fort myers beach florida. we have hurricane rated lanai doors. there is only one handle on the inside so there is no receiver for through screws. Our current handles are attached through a threaded hole in the door frame. These holes would not hold the screw and the handle would pull out easily since the doors are heavier than normal. We started using rivnuts which have solved that problem but now the handle base breaks around the screw hole, I am hoping to find a handle with a solid mounting base instead of the hollow cast crap metal.
