Handle set inquiry

Question

Here is the old handle side by side with the new. As you can see the screw holes line up. However the location of the lock is offset where the old one is dead center.

Thanks for posting. Sorry that the 82-086 did not work out for you; see our Return Policy here. You nailed the issue: you need a handle set that has the thumb lever and key lock perfectly centered between the mounting holes, rather than offset towards one or the other. See our 82-030A. This has the same hole spacing, but also has the keyway centered. Take a look and let me know if you have further questions.
