Handle set and Lock replacement

Question

We purchased from Costco a vinyl sliding patio door & would like to replace the lock. I would prefer a complete set with two locking latches.

What would you recommend for more security?

Installation screw hole to screw hole measures at 4 inches.

Current handle set is not keyed.

Thanks for posting. The mortise lock looks like the 82-218, and the handle set is the 82-030. Unfortunately there are no real alternatives, since other sized mortise locks would require a different hole space. You have two options to consider here. First, you could opt for a keyed handle set. The thumb lever on the inside pull is 'offset' closer to the bottom screw hole, correct? If so, see the 82-030B Keyed Handle Set. Your other option is to install a Charlie Bar. See the 80-006.
