Hardware for Bifold Mirrored Closet Door 48" X 80"

My bifold mirrored closet doors are misaligned as you can see from images 01 and 02. The left door is little lower than the right door. I am not sure if it's a problem with the door or is it due to missing hardware. The hardware that is missing is in image 3. Not sure what do I call that, but is the whole left door almost .30-.40 inch lower just because of this missing piece? As is shown in image 04, due to door being lower it is coming out of track in both places. Is this something that is fixable? if so, what hardware would I need to fix this? Will it just be that missing piece or something else in addition? Pls advise.

Hello,

The adjustments and alignments for these bifold doors are done at the 21-048 bottom corner pivot. The photo of the top pin looks fine but the second photo of the bottom bi-fold door is missing the 21-058 guide pin. Once you install the pin and adjust the 21-048 pivot, the left side of the door should align with the right side. You can purchase a strip of wood to lower the top track so there is not so much space at the top of the doors if needed. Thanks for posting.

Thanks Paul. When you say, adjust the 21-048 pivot, can you pls explain what I would need to do? Also, for the replacement part, do I just need to order the missing 21-058 guide pin? Or any other part as well? Like you have the individual parts, do you also have the whole set I can purchase?

There is a groove in the threaded end of the 21-048. Once you loosen the nut located in the bottom stationary corner, use a slotted screwdriver to turn the pin clockwise to raise the door and counterclockwise to lower the door.

If the 21-058 is the only damaged or missing part, that is all you'll need to replace. Unforutnately, these parts are not available in a kit since each manufacturer chooses different combinations of parts to use for their doors.

Thanks a lot Paul and my apologies for the delayed response. Your advise helped to raise the door. Can you pls share the code for the other items as well so I can replace all of them at once since it seems like these are very old and may likely be causing issues in the near future so I am thinking to order all of the required parts at once?

In addition, I have one more question unrelated to this note. I have a storm door at my entryway which I want to change. But, I am unable to determine which particular replacement lock will work for my case. Can you pls help me with that as well. I have attached the images to this comment. Let me know in case additional information needed from my end.

We'd be happy to confirm if we carry any other parts for your closet but we'd need to know what else you need since these doors do not use one specific set of hardware.

As for the storm door hardware, it looks like you may have old-style Pella parts. Unforutnately, we do not carry a suitable replacement for the handle set. If you need the internal mortise lock, we would need to see yours fully removed from the door to compare to our inventory. Thank you.

Thanks Paul. Is there an installation instruction that I can follow to install the missing 21-058 pin?

We do not have instructions on this particular guide pin but take a look at the guides related on this page showing the general process to replace the pins on similar bi-fold doors.

Thanks for getting back to us but we'll also need to see the side of the mortise lock body to confirm if we carry a possible replacement. Please also write out the exact distance between the center of the installation holes since it's tough to make out measurements from photos.

That's exactly what we needed to see. Unfortunately, we do not carry a mortise lock that matches the spindle position shown in your photos. I'm sorry we won't be able to assist with this repair but please let us know if you have any other hardware questions.
