Installing part numbers 85-011 & 85-001

Question

I bought a house that has #83-126 on the screen patio door. The door never had a keeper installed in order to lock the screen door with the latch. I bought two different types of "keepers" from you #85-001 and 85-011. I can't get either one to line up with the latch vertically. Is there a little trick to get that latch to catch the keeper and lock the door? I was wondering if an #85-006 might work? Please help me with this, I've installed these before but this one has me stumped!

We can't be sure without being there to troubleshoot the problem but one possibility is that your screen door may be "bowed" in the middle where the handle installs. One option would be to try packing out the keeper using some small washers. The 85-011 keeper should work with the 83-126 handle. We can't be sure without seeing the original keeper but give it a try and let us know how you make out.
