Having trouble installing the S795-34 Option 34C

Tried installing the balance and it won't catch the spring.

We'd be happy to help but I'm not quite sure what you mean by the balance not catching the spring. Could you elaborate? If you haven't already, I would recommend taking a look at the installation process shown at timestamp 3:15 in the video below. Thank you.
