Hello! I have a bi-fold closet door that the bottom pin has dislodged, inside the door. do you have recommendations as to how to fix this and be able to hang the door?

I was thinking maybe a metal plate across the bottom of the door, with a screw to replace the pin
the first picture you can see where the door on the right has the pin in place as needed. The one on the left is the one that is missing the bottom pin
also a close up of the pin

Thank you for reaching out to us. It looks like you have the 23-119 adjustable bottom pin that has a 3/8" shaft. We have the 23-135 bottom threaded pin with a 7/16" shaft. I'm thinking you might be able to fill the damaged hole with wood putty. Let it dry, then drill a 3/8" hole and use the 23-135 bottom threaded pivot. I'm also thinking you could add a steel washer to fit over the shaft and add strength to the nylon collar of the 23-119 pivot pin.

Thank you Paul for the information.
I see you are suggesting 2 different options. If I go with the larger threaded pivot, I'm wondering if it will fit into the same bottom pivot bracket.
Bi-fold Door Bottom Pivot Bracket
23-301
If this was your door, would you go with that option?
Also, the width of the doors need to be trimmed down because they are 24" wide and the opening of the closet is only 48" so although they fit side by side in the opening, there is not enough room to open them. Can you tell me how much I should take off each side of the door to have enough room to open them? If they are hollow core doors, I need to be careful not to take to much off I'm assuming.

Bi-fold Door Bottom Pivot Bracket
Hi I am wondering if I can turn the plastic piece around on the bottom pivot bracket so that the spot for the store to rest is closer to the wall than the screw?
The doors are very tight in the space. And so I want to snug the door right up to the jamb

It sounds like you want to install it backwards, but I'm afraid the 23-301 is not meant to install that way.
