Help!

Question

My casement window won't close-gear is stripped. I'll need 39-253-RB. Can you suggest how to remove this operator cover in the photo so I can begin? Will I need to purchase a gasket (if this one will be destroyed in the removal?) Will I need to purchase a track slider or should I still be able to use original...again, just a gear stripped issue. Thank you!

Hello,

It looks like you have an old-style Encore operator with a fixed cover. If you're unable to access the installation screws once the window is open, you may need to remove the trim piece covering it. We've related a few videos on this page to assist you.

You'll also need to make sure your operator uses the same 39-539 slider used with the 39-253RB. If so, you should be able to reuse the original track but we also offer the 39-528 if needed.
