Help Identify Channel Balance Part

Thanks for posting. Please confirm that the metal channel, not including the end attachments, is 30" long and 1/2" or 9/16" wide. If so, see our S380-30 or S385-30. The only difference between these two Series is the 'depth' of the bottom nylon shoe. With the Series 380 the depth of this nylon shoe is 1", whereas with the Series 385 it is 1-3/32". Compare with your own and see what is best.

Once you know what balance to select, you'll need to choose a stamp option. Your stamp option of 29-9 is a little unusual, though. You will need to weigh your window sash. You can then match that exact weight with one of the weight ranges listed with each stamp option on the product page. Let us know if you have any questions.

I am sending you the photos of the current channel balance that needs replacement. We have a Milgard double pane sash window....I am not sure which type.

Thanks for your help,

Raman

Hi Bob

Thanks for the prompt response.

Yes, I can confirm the length of the metal channel is 30" and the width is 1/2 or 9/16 inches.

How do I measure the depth of the Nylon shoe?

Thanks

Raman

Do your best to measure the length of the shoe from front to back. We understand it is difficult with an part that is not completely flat, but this measurement will help determine which series balance you need, as well as the physical weight of your sash for the proper stamp option.

The depth of the shoe does matter for proper balance replacement recommendations so we thank you for measuring that for us. Your replacement balance is going to be the S385-30 with the 2975 stamp option, again we thank you for weighing the sash and confirming this for us.

This balance should work for you, if there is anything else we can do for you, please let us know.

The depth of the shoe appears to be closer to 1 3/32" than 1". 3/32" is so small....does it matter?

Also, the weight of the window sash is ~ 44 lbs.

Hope this helps to provide me with a part number that I can order.

My channel balance s 30in. ISB 2950. I am about to order the 30in. 385 series 2950. Is this the correct balance to order?
Thanks!

You definitely chose the right stamp, but I can't tell you if the Series 385 is right. There's only one way to know if you picked the right Series and that's by comparing the nylon fittings on your balance to those we show on the Series 385 store page.
