Help Installing 83-003

A quick learner from Ohio says:
I am having the same issue as above. The door handle screws off easy but the outside handle is revited to the screen door. Do I try to pop rivets off to install 83-003 or leave them on. I broke the existing black plastic handle as it was riveted to door when trying to remove old hardware. . See attached pictures.

Hello,

To replace the outside handle, you'll need to drill out the existing rivet using a 1/8" diameter drill bit like our 75-506. To reinstall the outside handle, you would need to use a short pop rivet like the 33-006, along with a pop rivet tool like the 75-012S.

I'm not positive but if the mounting hole is not too large you may be able to use a screw such as the 33-072. The reason the manufacturer used pop rivets is that the screws from the two handles hit when installed.
