This is one of two top rollers on my sliding patio screen door. I bought the home with it as is and I can't find a replacement anywhere.
It is 1" diameter and has a threaded nut with a bearing embedded in the roller.
The nut serves as an anchor for the screw that holds it to the door and also as a spacer so the roller aligns with the rail.
I can't use a different type of roller with screw and nut because there is no room for the it in the rail system.
There is no brand name on the door anywhere and the builder is no longer in business.
Help!

I'm not sure what to recommend. We don't have anything exactly like this. That said, take a look at our 84-017 or 84-057. Do you think one of these could work on your door? Also, does the wheel you show in your photos install directly to the screen door itself, or is there a housing that it goes into? If this just goes right into the door then you're going to have a hard time finding a good replacement. They don't really make screen doors like that anymore. |
Goes to the door itself. The nut also serves as a spacer to keep the roller away from the door surface. There is very little space between the outside of the roller (opposite the nut).
It goes roller/nut/door/screw. The hole is only big enough for the screw. It won't allow me to use the models you recommend due to the size of the shaft on them.

I'm afraid that we have nothing closer, in that case. It may have been something made for your specific type of door. I would check a local mom and pop shop near you, especially if they have a history. They may be familiar with homes in your area. Sorry we can't be of more help! |
