Help Removing Acorn Handle

Hello,

I ordered the sliding door handle replacement 82-055 handle set. It fits and is the right size, however, I can't get the silver, outside facing part off from the previous/existing handle. The handle on your website page below is exactly what I have, and it is the large silver piece (left side of picture that says Acorn DorWal on it) that I can't remove. Does anyone know if there is a trick to this? I don't see any other screws on the inside after I removed the interior handle. Help!

Hopefully I can help! The 82-055 handle should only be held on with the two mounting screws on the inside handle. After those two screws are removed, both parts of the handle should come off the door. Try removing the screws and "wiggling" the handles a little to loosen them up. Maybe they are just stuck from being on the door for a long time. Let us know how it goes.
