Help choosing an option

A quick learner from California says:

I need to replace 2 channel balances. I believe I have the 27" 380 series and the old one has "26 5 AW CMC 2" imprinted on it. The sash weighs 15 lb. I'm not sure which option I need. Can you help?

Hi Ryan,

Normally a 27" Series 380 balance with stamp 26 5 will translate to 2650, however, this will carry a window sash weight range of 26 through and including 30 pounds.

S380-27 with 2630 stamp option would be recommended for a 15 pound sash; this will carry a window sash weight range of 13 through and including 19 pounds.

This information is based on 2 balances per sash. Balances are designed assuming friction in the jamb weather-strip will carry a portion of the sash weight. Suggested sash weights are approximate.
