To start, it is next to impossible to identify a balance without seeing the originals, so we have our work cut out for us. If there's not an identical window elsewhere in the house that still has its balances, the best we can do is guess. Considering that your sashes are wood, the balance may not be something we can get at all, unfortunately.
That being said, here's a guess. The 18-008 top sash guide is often used with Series 380 side-load balances. I haven't seen it used with a wood sash, though. To verify this, are there any other wood windows in the house with a side-load balance? We usually would compare the length between the old balance and the new one. If not, I'll try to figure out the balance length, but I'll need the height of the visible glass from the bottom of the sill.

Hi Paul
The distance from the bottom of the window to the glass is 3". From the wear marks on the wood i guesstimate the length of the balancer is 24"

Thanks! In that case, you can consider our S380-24 channel balance. You will need to weigh the sash to determine the proper stamp option. However, please keep in mind that this is just an educated guess. I can't say for sure if this will work for you.

The S380-24 with a 2320 option is best to hold a 12 pound sash.

I was looking at the sash balance guide recommended for the S380 balancers and they are different than mine. I believe mine are the 18-008. Can you make sure that is ok, the measurements are exact for mine and the 18-008's. Thank you so much for your help.

Your 18-008 top sash guide can be used with Series 380 balances, don't worry.
