Help installing door with the 81-018 roller

Hello, Bill. Assuming your new roller's adjustment is maxed out, then there's not really any way to adjust it more. I also can't think of a product that is identical to the 81-018, but adjusts even further.

Can you verify that the 81-018 is identical to your original product? There is one older part I see every now and again that seems identical, but in fact has lower installation tabs. If that's what you had then there is unfortunately nothing you can do to get the 81-018 to work, or anything else in our inventory; that old style I'm describing is incompatible with anything we sell and to my knowledge isn't even made anymore.

Seeing a photo of the original assembly would allow me to confirm.

Yep, I was afraid this would be the case. You have that older style roller with the lowered tabs. I know that doesn't seem like a big difference, but it renders our 81-018 totally incompatible. There's nothing you can really do to get this roller functional for the same reasons you've already experienced. It just doesn't give the clearance you need.

I've tried a lot of different parts but none have successfully replaced your original part. I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this just isn't something we can help with. As far as I am aware, it's obsolete.
