Help replacing 82-218

I watched the video on how to install the 82-218 mortise lock and assumed removing the old lock would just be the reverse but it doesn't seem to be. Is there a difference when removing the old lock? I cannot get the old one out.

Removing the 82-218 shouldn't be that difficult. Make sure that you have removed the handle from the door first. If the thumb lever or key lock is still installed, then it would prevent the 82-218 from coming out. Make sure you are holding the lock with a pair of pliers so it doesn't fall in the door!
