Help replacing Pella storm window seals

Handy Person from Ithaca, NY

I need to replace the seals on my Pella aluminum storm windows that were installed in the mid-1980s. The rubberized seal has become stiff and no longer makes a good seal. Can you recommend a replacement gasket that I could purchase from Swisco?

Hi there Bruce.

Thanks for reaching out to us. Can you remove an undamaged sample of this seal? We'd like to see a clear photo of the end profile. That should help us confirm if we have a comparable match or not.

Hi Emily. Here are some more window gasket photos. On the back of the gasket is a 90 degree fold with a channel that slides into the aluminum frame. I imagine the gasket material is a single piece that is cut to the size of each side of the window frame. Then, the seams are glued together (epoxy?) to make a rectangular piece that fits the frame.

Thanks for your help.

Thank you, Bruce! This is very odd and I'm afraid we haven't seen a seal like this before. I'm sorry to say that we don't sell a replacement for it though. Your best bet would be to contact Pella directly to see what they suggest. I sincerely apologize that we can't be of help with this repair; please let us know if you have any other hardware questions.
