Help with Truth locking hardware

I bought the Swisco 38-097, 38-098, and 38-079 latches and keepers to replace Truth 40226 left and similar right latches and keepers. The Truth keepers align with the center of the latch. From observing the operation of the Swisco latches, it appears that the keeper should be offset from center. Is that not correct?

That is correct, The keepers are not centered. See Truth diagram:

It appears the lower keeper screw sits 27/32" above the lower lock screw center, or 1-5/32" up from the base of the lock.
